About the dates and places
Genealogy software usually flattens a date into one line of text and a place into one comma-separated string, which makes both unsearchable and quietly loses what the record actually said.
Here a date keeps its qualifier as a separate fact, so about 1820 stays about and is not silently rounded to a certainty. A place is a real hierarchy — a town inside a county inside a country — and it knows that jurisdictions change: Toledo was in the Kingdom of the Visigoths in 600 and in Spain now, and it is the same town either way.
Where a researcher wrote a note into a date or a place field, that note is kept exactly as written rather than parsed into something tidier and wrong.
